This BLACK eye mask does an excellent job of blocking out all light. They are comfortable on and stay in place through the night. My husband and I each wear one every night. I bought extras in case they wear out because these masks are essential for our good night's sleep. NOTE: The pastel masks by this same company do NOT block out ALL light.

I absolutely love this eye mask. I have bought several and nothing compares. My daughter was having open heart surgery at UC David Medical Center and I bought one of these at the gift shop to help me sleep through the night. After the first night I had to buy another because I couldn't stand the idea of sleeping without one. Definetly buy this brand when looking for an eye mask.

I'd been using little dollar store eye masks for a few years and finally at xmas I decided to use a gift certificate and splurge (in a small way) on this. Unbelievably comfortable, purple version blocked all light, band didn't pinch, doesn't press on your eyes uncomfortably like some masks, just a dream to wear. Plus the lavender, while fragrant, being from a natural source rather than a chemical scent was very pleasant and really did help me sleep a lot quicker and deeper, which is an unexpected treat for this chronic insomniac. Love love love this mask. If you've been making do with bare bones, upgrade to this!
*Update* Its been 6 months and this still works great. Natural lavender smell is still there when I put it on every night. Other masks have lost their elastic by this point by this is still as pleasant to wear as it was the first day. Love it!

I guess I don't see what everyone else see's in this mask. I bought this because I needed something that will block out the flashing lights of the tv at night. The problem is this mask has a large hole right under the eye near the nose area which allows all the light I'm trying to block out enter.
Not to mention when I first got this product it smelled awful, like mold. I had to rinse it out and dry it. It was so disgusting. I wanted to return it at that point but I gave it a try and I don't think I'll be using it.
Not to mention it was a little too much pressure on my eyes so when I moved it up so the pressure was on my head instead of my eyes it let even more light in.
I was disappointed, especially after all the good reviews.

I like the mask, the shape, and everything, but the scent kind of bothers me. Would be nice if it weren't scented. It is lavender leaf scented and it is calming when it's on your face, but it smells weird from a far. I t does block out most of the light. I like it overall except for the smell. The fit is also well and I would think it would fit someone with a bigger head, like me.
