1Not what I was expecting.Jan 06, 2010
By Caitlin Schultz
I had seen these over on ThinkGeek, and had planned on ordering a tin for myself when I purchased my Christmas gifts. As luck would have it though, they were sold out, and so I sought them out here on Amazon instead. The cost was pretty ridiculous with the shipping, but ThinkGeek had played them up so much and really insisted that they tasted like real cupcakes that I just had to try some. And I mean, come on, they're CUPCAKE flavored mints. Who can resist that? They sound like they would be absolutely delicious, right?

Right.

...Unfortunately, sound and taste are two very different senses, and my taste buds weren't really in agreement with my ears. Since they arrived two weeks ago, I haven't eaten more than three or four of these things, and though I've tried to pawn them off on friends and family, I've still got them because no one else wants them, either. The taste isn't bad, really, but it's just not really good, either. When you first pop one of these things into your mouth, you get a really fake, slightly tart sugary taste. Once you bite into them, you get a bit of crappy vanilla flavoring mixed with a more powerful fake sugar taste, and...that's about it. My brother claims he can taste a bit of blueberry flavoring when he bites into them, but I haven't really tasted that myself. The point is, they taste nothing at all like cupcakes.

All in all, these aren't gross or disgusting or anything, but again, they're not good either, and if you're going to pay that much just to ship a little tin of these to your front door, they should taste a lot better than this. If I'm buying cupcake mints, I want them to taste like cupcakes.

My advice? Skip these.

4Gag giftJan 05, 2009
By Jennifer
I gave these as a gag gift and we all had a good laugh about them. They smell exactly like bacon but the taste is a little weird. Had fun with them though and everyone was excited to try one.

5Tastier than you would thinkJan 08, 2011
By JTRN
I bought these for my pickle-loving husband, mostly as a joke. They smell just like dill pickles, and they don't taste that bad. The mint itself is candy-sweet, but it leaves a dill pickle after taste. Worth it for the creepy factor alone.

5One of the better meat flavored mintsMay 20, 2010
By Timothy Poteet "Timboliah Pants on Fiyah"
I'm a big fan of meat flavored candies in general, and these bacon flavored mints are no exception. I find them to be one of the more delightful pork based candies on the market today. For those of you who are familiar with Swanson's turkey flavored pudding, these are easily on par.

4Helped me kick my addiction to bacon!Dec 20, 2009
By William F. Desmond "mrsnickers"
I used to eat 2 packages of bacon a week. I was up to 400 pounds and looking into buying a pig farm. I came across these bacon mints and the bacon dental floss. Now when I need some bacon I pop a mouthful of these mints and I can get through the day. What I really need is some bacon mouthwash. Good Evening.
