I bought this candle from the NYPL gift shop. The Library series of Paddywax candles were displayed in one corner, and what a lovely-smelling corner it was! I just had to buy one, and this one smelled wonderful (I would have purchased the Jane Austen candle as well but it wasn't available as a travel tin--happy to see it listed here on Amazon). On the tin, the scent of the Henry Thoreau candle is described as "Cedar*Moss*Juniper." It has a sort of earthy, floral scent. I burned this candle for about 40 minutes and it quickly filled the entire room with its aroma--surprisingly potent for such a relatively small candle.
Overall, a great candle packaged in a cute little tin. Would make a nice gift.
